If you want the heart mold I used, you can find it here.

No mold? No worries! You can roll the peanut butter into balls and dip them balls into the chocolate!

Ingredients needed for these Peanut Butter Chocolate Hearts:

  • ¾creamy peanut butter
  • ¼cupbuttersoftened
  • ¼cupbrown sugar
  • 1½cupspowdered sugar
  • 24ouncesmilk chocolate chips(2 bags chocolate chips; you can also use semi sweet!)

How to make our Peanut Butter Chocolate Hearts:

In a mixing bowl, combine peanut butter, butter, brown sugar and powdered sugar.

Place chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds, then remove the bowl and give it a stir. Place the bowl back into the microwave and repeat the process until you stir the chocolate and it’s smooth and melted.

In your heart tray, place enough chocolate in the heart shape to cover the bottom of the mold.

Add 1 to 2 teaspoons of your peanut butter mixture on top of the chocolate (you can kind of mold it into a flat heart shape or leave it in a ball shape – whatever you prefer).

Cover the peanut butter with more melted chocolate until the heart mold is full.

Stick in the refrigerator or freezer until hardened. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator until you are ready to eat them.

  2. Jessie says:

Yum!!! Chocolate in any shape is delish to me... thanks for the recipe, I will be making these for Valentine's Day. Oh and you might want to check your local 99 cent or Dollar Tree stores for these heart shapes molds... because at $10 ea is a little much for my pockets. I found these at my local Dollar Tree just last week :) and actually... I pretty much see these every year at my local discount store. Just FYI.

  3. Ashley says:

These look mouth watering! Soooo making these! Thx!

  4. Lolly Jane says:

Come to mama!! These look absolutely amazing. Mmm!!

  5. Landee says:

These look so stinkin' good! Peanut butter & chocolate are a combo made in heaven. I gotta make these!

  6. Candice says:

I'm so happy I found this! I too am on a budget this year and was looking for something adorable and handmade I could do. When I found these hearts and saw that you had used them for an inexpensive gift I knew I had to make them. I was lucky to get the last heart candy mold pan at Walmart (Jessie I wish I had seen your comment about the dollar store earlier! But I paid $3 for mine so not too bad). I just got done making them and popped them in the freezer, hopefully the s/o will love them tomorrow!

  7. Elizabeth says:

When I made this my mixture wasn't creamy like yours. It was dry and crumbly. Can you tell me what I did wrong? I followed the recipe but not sure what happened. :(Thanks for your help.Elizabeth

  8. Cyd says:

Hi Elizabeth, we have never had a problem with the peanut butter center being dry. If you used exact measurements. Was your butter totally softened at room temp? Sorry it didn't work out too well. We make these all the time and they are a family favorite. Be sure your measurements are exact. Too much powdered sugar or brown sugar could dry it out.

  9. Nancy says:

I've made something similar and when it comes out too dry I just add a little extra melted butter.

  10. Margarita Cano says:

Recipe sounds great, but what happens when you package them? do they tend to melt?? or get soft?

  11. Cyd says:

The chocolate sets up great. They should be fine if you stack them. Unless they are going to be in the warm sun or a very warm room. But they set up just like the outside of a dipped chocolate.

  12. Pennie Offley says:

This turned out sooo good - I’ll never buy Reesie’s peanut butter cups again! Today I’m making these AND experimenting using your microwave caramels to put inside! I’ll let you know how they turned out!!

  13. Momma Cyd says:

We would love to hear how everything turned out!!
